A chalice stands between them, while the halos surrounding both figures complete this tender Eucharistic scene. The artist's signature, F. RASUMNY, appears at the lower left.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe reverse features further symbols of Holy Communion, including a chalice and Host surrounded by rays of light, ears of wheat and a cluster of grapes. Beneath these is a large blank cartouche, originally intended to be engraved with the communicant's name or the date of the occasion. It has remained unengraved.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe rim is marked “1969” and “BRONZE.” The medal has a warm aged patina with light surface marks and wear consistent with its age.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt comes with its original round green presentation box. The box has considerable rubbing, marks and wear around the edges, together with losses to the old paper label inside.
