A beautiful small Catholic devotional frame featuring the Madonna and Child with the young Saint John the Baptist, after Raphael’s celebrated painting Madonna della Seggiola.

The richly coloured image is printed on a gently domed porcelain plaque and set directly into a finely textured gilt-brass frame. The shaped frame is surmounted by a cross and has a hinged easel stand, allowing it to be displayed on a bedside table, prayer altar or small shelf. The stand folds flat when not in use.

The reverse is decorated with a raised cross surrounded by engraved rays and a patterned border, making the back attractive in its own right.

This French miniature devotional frame dates from the early 20th century, approximately 1900–1930. It was sourced in France and features a porcelain interpretation of Raphael’s celebrated Madonna della Seggiola.

It measures approximately 3¼ inches high by 2 inches wide and ½ inch deep when folded (8.3 × 5.1 × 1.3 cm). It weighs 37.9 grams.

It remains in good antique condition, with aged patina, surface marks and gentle wear to the gilt finish. The porcelain image remains colourful, and the original easel stand is present and functional. Please study the photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description.
