A wonderful vintage French artist's field easel by Manet, thoughtfully designed to combine a portable easel, painting box, and storage case in one practical piece.

Crafted from wood with brass fittings and an original carrying handle, the easel folds neatly into a compact case for transport and opens to reveal an adjustable canvas support, paint storage compartment, and metal-lined mixing tray. Designed for plein air painting, it would have allowed an artist to work comfortably outdoors while carrying everything needed in a single unit.

The easel bears the Manet name and shows the honest signs of a working artist's tool. Small paint marks and traces of previous use remain throughout, giving it character and reflecting years of creative work. These marks are part of its history and add to its appeal as both a functional easel and a decorative studio piece.
