Vintage Italian Filigree Trinket Box with St Peter’s Basilica Rome Souvenir Lid

A lovely vintage Italian filigree trinket box with a charming view of St Peter's Basilica in Rome beneath a faceted glass lid.

Made from gilt-tone metal with delicate openwork decoration and little raised feet, it has a warm old-world feel and would look beautiful on a bedside table, dressing table, or shelf. The lid lifts to reveal what appears to be a padded tufted silk interior, now showing wear and age consistent with time and use.

The sepia photograph of the Vatican gives the piece a gentle nostalgic charm, reminiscent of traditional souvenirs brought home from visits to Rome.

There is light age-related wear and patina to the metalwork, along with wear to the interior silk.
