Antique French Art Nouveau Silver Rosary Purple Faceted Glass Beads Lily Centre Crucifix

A beautiful and significant antique French Art Nouveau silver rosary dating to the early 1900s, with richly coloured purple faceted glass beads and elegant flowing lily motifs throughout the design.

This is a substantial rosary in both size and quality. The luminous purple glass beads catch the light beautifully, and several of the larger Pater beads are finished with delicate silver filigree caps, adding refinement and craftsmanship to the piece. The ornate centrepiece is especially lovely, decorated with a cross and stylised lilies in a graceful Art Nouveau style.

The crucifix is finely detailed with softly flared terminals and delicate lily motifs that echo the design of the centrepiece. Both the crucifix and centrepiece bear French silver hallmarks, and all pertinent parts, including the chain, are silver.

In the Christian tradition, purple is associated with prayer, reflection, devotion, and the liturgical seasons of Advent and Lent, making it a particularly fitting colour for a devotional rosary.
