Antique Italian Florentine Madonna & Child Panel – Gilt Tole Style Religious Plaque After Carlo Dolci

A beautiful and atmospheric Italian devotional wall plaque featuring the Madonna and Child after the celebrated 17th-century painter Carlo Dolci. The softly coloured image is surrounded by an ornate gilt frame with hand-punched decoration in the Florentine style, giving the piece wonderful warmth and old-world character.

The reverse still retains its original paper label referencing Carlo Dolci (1616–1686), "Madonna contemplante il Bambino," Galleria Corsini, Roma. The mellow gilded finish and decorative pierced detailing create a particularly striking presentation, while the image itself has a lovely aged craquelure effect adding to its antique charm.

A wonderfully decorative religious piece for a prayer corner, hallway, bedroom, or gallery wall, equally suited to traditional or eclectic interiors. Mid 1900s.

Condition is good antique/vintage condition with age-related wear, rubbing, marks, and patina to the gilded surface consistent with age. Please study photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
